Can the trolley go on the highway?

Yes, the trolley can go on the highway and goes the speed limit. It’s much like a bus- just decorated like a trolley.

Where does the tour start and end?

All of the tours will start and end at Balsam Lake Lodge and Restaurant just outside of Balsam Lake.

Is there parking available nearby?
Yes, there is parking available at the Balsam Lake Lodge and Restaurant.

Can I bring a stroller?
Unfortunately, we do not have room on the trolley for strollers.


What time should I arrive before the tour?

We will start the tour check-in inside the Lodge lobby 30 minutes before the tour time and will be boarding the trolley about 15 minutes before departure time. However, the Balsam Lake Lodge and Restaurant is open if you’d like to grab lunch before we leave.


Do you offer private or chartered trolley tours?
Yes, we offer private trolley bookings for a variety of occasions. Please visit our Trolley Rental page to inquire about cost and available dates.


Is the trolley wheelchair accessible?
No, the trolley is not wheelchair accessible.


Do I need to book in advance?
You do not, but it is highly recommended. If the trolley is full, you won’t be able to purchase a ticket to ride.


Are tickets refundable or transferable?

All ticket sales are final.  Tickets are NOT refundable and NOT transferable.


What happens if I am late for the trolley tour?

Unfortunately, if you are not there before the trolley leaves, you will miss out on the fun and will NOT receive a refund. 


Will I have to buy any of the alcoholic beverages while on an organized tour?

If participants want any drinks beyond what the ticket covers, you will have to purchase them yourself. 


Are food and drinks allowed on the trolley?

For the organized tours, participants can bring food and water from home if they wish. Alcohol is allowed on the trolley if purchased from the establishments on the tour or the Balsam Lake Lodge & Restaurant.


For private groups, alcohol brought on board is allowed.


Are pets allowed on board?

Pets are not allowed on the trolley tours or on private events. Service animals are welcome.


Is smoking and/or vaping allowed on the trolley?

No, smoking and vaping are not allowed on the trolley.
